Three paths in. One open gate.
Buck Lake doesn't run an application process directly. We work through three partner organizations who handle vetting, scheduling, and travel logistics. Pick the one that matches your situation.
Hero Hunt
Buck Lake has hosted hunts with Hero Hunt for five seasons. They coordinate vetting, scheduling, and travel for combat-wounded service members, police, firefighters, EMS, and others injured in the line of duty. Bring your kid or grandkid. Many of our Hero Hunt events are family-friendly.
Apply through Hero Hunt →Special Needs Guests
We partner with Cross the Divide to host children and adults with physical, developmental, or cognitive disabilities. The property has wheelchair-accessible blinds, adaptive equipment, and patient guides. Caretakers and parents always come along.
Apply Through Us →USA Childs Wish
For three years, Buck Lake has hosted youth hunts in partnership with USAChildsWish.org. These trips are built around critically ill children, hosted alongside a parent or caretaker, typically during youth season. The pace is slower, the setup is family-first.

A typical Hero Hunt event runs Thursday afternoon to Saturday afternoon. Youth hunts run Friday evening to Sunday lunch. Here's what's on the ground.
The property
1,600 conserved acres of mostly contiguous land. 10 enclosed hunting blinds in food plots, several wheelchair-accessible. Whitetail, turkey, and predator hunts.
The lake
An 80-acre lake stocked with bass and bream. Bank access for all guests. Kayaks and a pontoon boat (in progress) for guests who can get on the water.
Lodging
Currently rented condos and houses close to the property, provided by Buck Lake at no cost. A bunk house at camp is under construction.
Meals
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served at camp throughout the event. Dietary needs accommodated. Tell your partner organization in advance.
Guides
Each hunter is paired with a volunteer guide who handles the blind, the equipment, the shot, and the recovery. Family members can ride along.
After the hunt
Meat processing handled by Buck Lake partners. Our guides help prepare and pack your harvest so you leave with everything ready for the trip home.
Not sure where you fit?
If you don't fit cleanly into one of these three categories, reach out. We host one-on-one hunts as well, and we'd rather hear from you and figure it out than have you not ask.
